Affirmations: Just for you Bianca

As promised, I want to post some information on affirmations. I've used affirmations for close to nine years now and have stacks of worn journals where I note and change whatever affirmations I am working on depending on where I am in life. I first learned about them in a book called, "Change Your Mind, Change Your Life" in which using affirmations was briefly introduced. I was hooked.

The idea behind affirmations is fairly simple. Most of use grow up learning to put ourselves down for any real or imagined reason. We grow up beleiving certain things about ourselves or comparing ourselves negatively to others. The use of positive affirmations is a technique to change that negative self-talk into something more positive.

Since we've spent many years on the negative image it is unreasonable to expect an instant effect from affirmations, but if you stick to it for a few days, with honesty, trust, and belief, then results will start to happen.

You will also learn to be more aware of your thought pattern and will be able to more quickly stop negative thoughts and replace them with positive ones.

Affirmations can be tailored to affect change in any part of your life: health, love, finances, etc.

Here are a few general ones that I use to start my day:

* Positive thoughts bring me the benefits I desire
* Negative thoughts have no influence over me
* Everyday and in everyway I am getting better and better

I have also found that the more specific the affirmation, the more powerful. I also have affirmations that concern loved ones so that I can conciously send them positive energy.

As always .... BE BLESSED!

Please do. Don't give up after a few days though, B. Write down the affirmations and read them through as often as possibe. Read them out loud and visualize them being. I always say, look beyond what is. They universe will honor your thoughts whether they are good or bad. If you think broke, you will be. If you think wealth, the universe (GOD) will put in motion to make it happen in your life. You can use them for weight loss, improved health, love, whatever. Change your mind, change your life.

  3. So what do I do? Visualize myself slim wearing nice clothes? Do I say aloud I am beautiful and worthy?

Actually, yes. If feeling unworthy are some of the negative feelings that you battle with then you need to change those thoughts into positive affirmations. Some examples:

I AM a beautiful person, with a beautiful spirit.

    I AM loving myself unconditionally.

I AM worthy of living the life I want to live.

I AM worthy of having everything my heart desires.

I AM worthy of having a healthy, loving relationship.

I AM loving myself so completely,
that I never again reject myself or sabotage my happiness, freedom, health & love.

I AM completely self assured, and my attitude is very positive.

I AM knowing that love is endlessly abundant, and that I will always love and I will always be loved.

    I AM respecting myself.

I AM experiencing healthy self-esteem on a regular basis.

And while repeating these, visualize yourself looking vibrant and beautiful, being confident in certain situations, etc.

  5. Okay Nikki. I have procrastinated on trying affirmations. Since you put me on blast I knew I had to keep my promise to try. I did do a search and came up with a site that gave me affirmation phrase and statement examples. I have officially started using them. I will keep you posted on my progress.
